Some nine years ago, we were in the grip of one of the most severe spells of weather to occur in the month of December for over 100 years. Around Durham, the snowfall in December 2010 was very deep. The first half of January 2019 was very mild and incredibly dry in Durham, leaving us with pleasant conditions by the River Wear. We even spotted 3 otters out for a swim.

This one was taken on 14th November 2018. There have been some absolutely classic sunsets in Durham this year, and this was one of the better ones.
