: 12th-13th November. River flooding and severe gale.
A widespread and severe gale led to numerous ships being wrecked in British Home Waters. Prolonged heavy rain resulted in floods in many parts of Wales, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and Northern Ireland. At Todmordon, it was the worst since the historic flood of 1866. Several other towns were flooded and railway line washed away. Calderdale was very badly hit. Rainfall totals for the two days exceeded 100mm at 27 different locations, with 146mm recorded in the Duddon Valley, Cumbria.weather station
